But there is a shake up coming soon.( I will speak about this in a later posting) People are still wearing the fabulous Jeans, T-shirts- and with the revival of leggings many women have added them into their mix. So with the amazing display of fashion sense us Americans have ( sarcastically) I have to ask.
What happened to Fashion?!!!
Yes, I have mentioned this in earlier posts but I am diving deep today. We are going deep sea fishing.
There was once a day... no, a time... a long time... a long span of time in written history that people made sure they looked good when they left their home. After all, presentation is everything and you can make or break yourself with your appearance.
Me personally, I love to dress. I feel like a little girl playing dress up every morning I get ready for the day. And because I like to dress, I always get the question, " Where are you going?" " Why are you so dressed up?" from the people that have just met me, but when the get to know me, the figure out that this is just how I am. I love to dress. When I go places, I stick out to everyone else because to them.... in there amazing attire of jeans, sweats, t-shirts and athletic shoes, I guess I do look a little dressed up. But trading those jeans for a skirt and athletic shoes for wedges and a nice top instead of a t-shirt is not a big deal.
I think dressing has a lot to do with ones self esteem. Do you notice your friends or maybe yourself for that matter; that you tend to dress better on your "good" days? Do you go through your closet and put on that perfect outfit for your "cute" day? Then, on the days you don't want to be bothered you just throw anything on, put on a hat and your out the door? Me I choose to be a little bit different. ON my good days I dress good. And on my I'm really trying days dress GREAT. I make that extra effort to to look good, cause eventually the negative energy will pass and I will feel like my happy self again. Then, I would look down at my clothing and think, "What the heck do I have on?!" lol.
What I am trying to say is, What is inside is displayed on the outside. So do what you have to do to wake up feeling good, meditate, music, affirmations/mantras.,anything, so your true expression of yourself can ***********shine!***********
People used to leave their homes looking good.... I know.... I know times have changed, but, because times have changed doesn't mean we digress. As humans, we evolve naturally and it isn't going with natural forces to move back wards.
Here is a short picture summary of American Fashion.
Victorian age 1900's
These clothes were not ready to wear like we have now. All the clothing was made and tailored to you. So the dressing was impeccable... It sure did look hot though. (Hot as in sweaty!) No air conditioning and they wore corsets! But it is beautiful to look at!
1920's
The dress style has changed a lot, yet the integrity of a woman's attire is still intact.A big reason why the dresses were made with less fabric the nylons, cotton and other products were rationed for the war effort.... But yet they still looked good!
1930's
Oh Yeah I'm loven it! Feminine, Classy and Sexy!
1940's
Im loven this style. As you can see the women are in everyday attire. They all looked fabulous.
1950's
My absolute favorite time! This is when full skirts, pettie coats, wiggle dresses, pin-up girls and pencil skirts were in full swing! So Sexy, So fabulous and So feminine!!!
1960's
Mini skirts are now on the scene. I love mini skirts. I love the stockings.
1970's
The style was still great! Yet, this picture represents when jeans finally made it to the run way. There was a big uproar about it. And here also marks the down turn of American fashion.
1980's
Jeans, T-shirts and sneakers. WOW. Such a difference in 10 years.
1990's
What a perfect picture displaying the 90's! Big pop culture show displaying American fashion. This is when the grunge style really was big.
2000's
Need I say anything?!!!
Fashion went from...
This TO This
WOOW RIGHT?! It is pretty shocking when you see the pictures in sequence. You can actually see the downward turn. So I pose the question again "What happened to Fashion?"
Do something old, do something new, do something old and new, Just make sure to be you! ( My Dr.Seuss moment!)
If you are one of the people that want to break out of the cookie cutter mold and present yourself better yet are a little hesitant. Remember, start small and work your way up. Instead of a t-shirt put on a nicer shirt or add a cute bracelet and earrings. We all are beautiful beings and we should show it by the way we present ourselves.
Lets all find fashion and put our personal name on it.
